Modern Rustic Barn Wedding

I’m going back into the vault a little bit for this one but it is so fun to go back and look at all of the weddings and events that Back Bay Bride has been a part of. I consider my design aesthetic to be on-trend, but still classic so that when you look back at your photos years later you still love your choices as much as you did on your wedding day. Megan and Craig’s modern rustic wedding at the incredible Beech Hill Barn was no exception to this rule! And turns out Wedding Chicks loved the design as much as we did, you can read their feature here.

When I first met Megan she told me that when she thought of her wedding the only thing she could imagine was getting married in a big empty fields in the middle of nowhere. And in a lot of ways that is exactly what she got with her venue! Well, that plus a beautifully restored horse barn, a luxurious farm house, and running water, bathrooms and electricity which is always a bonus in my book when you’re choosing a more rustic location! I absolutely loved working at Beech Hill Barn and would recommend it to any couple who is seeking a remote but elegant retreat for family and friends and a rustic but convenient venue.

The property itself is so stunning that you don’t need much décor to bring it to life. It has great unique spaces for each event of the wedding. A wooded grove for the ceremony, a patio for cocktail hour, a grassy lawn for a sail cloth dinner tent, and a refurbished barn for dancing the night away (which is exactly what this fun crowd did).

The farm tables and gunmental chairs were the perfect rustic but modern backdrop to our tablescapes. The tables featured light blue napkins topped with acrylic place cards and greenery garlands added texture and interest. The florals were stunning and included pops of orange as a subtle hint to the bride’s Irish heritage. All of the details were so personal and thoughtful, from an illustrated stationary suite by a family member, to the Irish blessing during the ceremony to learning calligraphy to address her invitation– Megan put her touch on every aspect of the wedding.

The bridesmaids wore a perfect mix of shades of light blue in dresses they chose themselves. The groomsman were handsome in their navy suits. And I would be remiss to call out her stunning dress. I think I’ve gotten more DMs about this gown than anything else I’ve ever posted! It was so perfect, whimsical and modern, comfortable and fun.

From the the brick oven pizza food truck by Fire and Co, to the donut wall, to the bride’s sparkly keds, this was a laid back but special and thoughtful celebration that I am so happy I got to be a part of!

This vendor team was exceptional and Lindsay Hackney and LMV Productions captured it all so perfectly!
