Love on Cape Cod

Tyler and Deanna’s wedding at the Popponesset Inn on Cape Cod was special for a lot of reasons. The first being that I have known the groom since I was fifteen years old, and later after college had crossed paths with the beautiful bride. When the two met each other by complete happenstance and I heard through the grapevine they were dating, it was immediately obvious that they were the perfect match! Two of the most sweet, positive and genuinely good-natured people you will ever meet. When they reached out to hire me as their wedding planner I was honored and excited to be a part of the process for two of my favorite people and close friends.

Another reason this wedding was so special was because I got to work with one of my favorite Boston wedding photographers and friend, Meredith Jane Photography! As soon as Deanna and Tyler got engaged I recommended Meredith because I knew her light, airy, cheerful and authentic photography was the perfect style for this couple’s story.

Every detail of Tyler and Deanna’s wedding was intentional and meaningful. The Popponesset Inn was the perfect beachside venue and the recent renovations of graywashed wood flooring and a sailcloth ceiling were the perfect compliments to the colorful, coastal elegant feel of the design. Artist Caitlin Alderfer designed the perfect custom invitation suite to set the tone for the event including a map of their most favorite places, watercolor stripes and dusty rose details.

We chose bright white linens, simple white china and classic flatware and glassware for a fresh and clean backdrop to the pops of color in the tablescape design. Allison Phalen nailed the New England classic floral design and centerpieces featuring blue hydrangea and dusty blush roses. Blush watercolor menu cards paired with natural rope napkin ties and white starfish accents were the perfect hint of coastal décor without being too traditionally nautical. The light rose candles were the ideal muted shade of pink, perfectly matched to the bridesmaids dresses and tied the whole design together.

For the head table, we chose Nantucket driftwood farm tables from True North and elevated each place setting with a chambray napkin and a hand lettered sand dollar place card. We used lush greenery garlands to take advantage of the long family style table set up and add texture and detail to the setting. Starfish tucked in the garlands and rope Mr. & Mrs. chair signs continued the coastal feel and the blue watercolor cake by Delicious Desserts was a showstopper!

I loved the heartfelt details Deanna and her family added to the event with a custom seating chart of sand dollars and driftwood built by her dad, wedding day signage created by her brother and her grammy's diamond reimagined as a necklace. There were countless details that were thoughtful and personal and above all the bride and groom were absolutely glowing with love, happiness and gratitude for their family and friends and the beautiful day that brought them all together to celebrate their wedding in their favorite place.

And of course, none of this would be possible without the incredible and talented team of vendors!
