I absolutely loved working on this wedding with my hilarious and adorable couple, Kristina and Alex. These two were honestly so much fun to work with and made my job feel easy. I love when I get to work with people that feel like friends immediately, and with Kristina's amazing taste, their love of their dogs, and obsession with craft beer - I knew we'd be a good match. It also didn't hurt that Alex is extremely handy and made all of our hand crafted, DIY details a reality.

With our groom focused on his projects, Kristina and I were free to dive into all the pretty décor and details that would bring the vision to life. Inspired by the stunning waterfront family home where the wedding would be held, we designed an outdoor ceremony and tented celebration worthy of the backdrop of the sweeping views of the Maine coast.
With a vision of coastal elegance in mind, we selected pale blue linens, white china and gold flatware and accents for our tabletop. White pillar candles and gold votives added a soft glow to our tablescapes and a mix of stunning tall and low centerpieces by Flour Events created the elegant and elevated feel of an outdoor ballroom. Custom stationary designed by Emily Mayne added a sweet and personal touch to the invitations and paper goods. Walnut cross back chairs and a simple backdrop of white chiffon and greenery, and striking pedestal arrangements accented the ceremony site.
The stage was perfectly set for their 4:00 o’clock ceremony. A vintage dresser complete with flutes of poured champagne, a white washed welcome table and an antique French door seating chart greeted guests as they entered. At 3:55 a gust of wind blew through the yard and the sky opened up with torrential rain. Guests were quickly ushered under the tent and gathered on the dance floor. As another gust blew through, this time knocking over centerpieces and blowing those perfect white napkins and water color menus to the floor, but the guests jumped into action. Men took off their jackets and rolled down tent walls, the ladies picked up rogue napkins and votives and we returned the centerpieces to their rightful spots. After a few minutes, the rain passed, the sun peeked out, and all of the vendors rushed the ceremony site to dry off the chairs. Not ten minutes later, the groomsmen filed down the aisle and took their places and the ceremony begun. The rain continued off and on for the rest of the evening but guests dined and danced and enjoyed the evening to the fullest, complete with a surprise firework show organized by the father of the groom.
This is what I love about hosting a wedding at a place as meaningful as your own backyard. All of the guests were so clearly happy to be there and cared deeply for the couple and their family. Without hesitation they jumped in to ensure the day progressed smoothly and a little rain didn’t get in the way of their dream day. From all of the custom woodwork done by Alex to the excitement and support of their guests, this wedding was a beautiful, personal and genuine expression of love that I was so honored to be a part of.
Without a doubt this wedding would not have been what it was without this incredible vendor team!
